Jet-Ski Accident Near Tribunj, Two Injured

Officials of the MRCC Rijeka yesterday, August 7th at 12.45 P.M., through the County Prevention Center ŽC 112 Šibenik, received a distress call about a serious maritime accident with two injured near Tribunj, informing the Port of Šibenik and the Medical Emergency in Šibenik whose employees arrived at the scene of the accident at 1.25 P.M, reports Zadarski.hr. 

The accident happened 500 meters from the main breakwater in Tribunj, where two jet-skis crashed into each other. The two injured were both German citizens: A.P. (born in 1996) suffered a broken pelvic bone and L.T. (born in 1999) with a broken leg. They were transported to the  General Hospital in Šibenik, where they were received further medical treatment.

After performing the investigation of the accident, the employees of the Port Authority of Šibenik concluded that the collision of the two jet-skis happened around 12.40 P.M. By checking the accompanying documentation, it was determined that both vessels were driven under the Croatian flag; one owned by a private person from Krapina, and another vessel owned by a legal entity from Zabok. The cause of the accident, as well as the responsibilities of the involved participants, are yet to be determined by further investigation.
