MARINA ACI Marina Žut
ACI Marina Žut is situated on the NE coast of Žut Island, the second largest island of the Kornati Archipelago, separated from the island of Kornat by a two-mile wide channel (Žutski Kanal). Žut Island lies between the island of Pašman and the Kornati Islands, 20 miles SW of Zadar and 10 miles SW of Biograd na Moru. With no permanent settlements, only a couple of sparsely scattered houses and nearby Kornati Islands waiting to be explored, the island of Žut is an interesting sailors destination with a Robinson Crusoe vibe to it.
Situated in a deep and over a mile wide bay, marina Žut offers a safe shelter from all winds. However, during strong bura, it is recommended to moor alongside marina’s NW end of the pier, whereas during strong south winds it is more pleasant to moor on the SE end of the pier.
The marina is open from April 1 to October 31.
Berths
ACI Marina Žut has a 450 m long concrete pier with 135 wet berths, all of which are equipped with a limited supply of water and electricity. Water is supplied from 8 to 10 a.m., and electricity from 8 to 12 a.m. and again from 6 to 12 p.m. There are no dry berths, but there are 15 buoys east of the marina, which can be used when the marina is full. The marina can accommodate boats and mega yachts up to 40 m. Sea depth in the marina ranges from 1 to 4 m. Depth in the middle of the bay is around 20 m. Boats with a draft of more than 3 metres can moor anywhere on the south pier or at the very end of the north pier.

Useful Information
Although being a part of the Kornati Archipelago, the Island of Žut is not included in the Kornati National Park and may, therefore, be visited without a permit. There are no restrictions on walking ashore but bear in mind that most of the land is private property. The island can only be reached by boat. The nearest inhabited island is Pašman Island, which is connected to the mainland by ferry from Biograd na Moru, and Dugi Otok Island, which is connected by ferry from Zadar.
Since the island is uninhabited, there are only few restaurants nearby and a grocery store. For more facilities, such as ambulance, post office, police, more shops and restaurants, fish market, bakery, seasonal border crossing or harbourmaster’s office, head over to Sali on Dugi Otok Island. The nearest gas station is in Zaglav on Dugi Otok Island, 8nm away from ACI Marina Žut. The nearest general hospital is in Biograd na Moru, and the nearest airport is Zadar Airport in Zemunik Donji.
The approach to Žut Island is mostly free of dangers, although there are numerous islets and reefs nearby so caution is needed. There is a small islet, Maslinjak, in the entrance to Luka Žut, which can be passed on either side. When approaching by night from the west, it is recommended to sail through the passage of Proversa Mala, which is well marked by lighthouses. When approaching from the direction of Zadar, the route passes through the small strait of Mali Ždrelac, between the islands of Ugljan and Pašman. The bridge over the strait is only 16.5 m high. The north entrance is a little over 200 m wide, and 6.2 m deep, the entrance near Ugljan is only one metre deep. Also, beware of currents running through it due to either tide or weather conditions.
