Useful Information
There is a seasonal maritime border crossing and Harbourmaster’s Office located at the eastern pier of the marina. For the rest of the year, the border crossing and customs are located in the main harbour of the town.
There is a hotel and private accommodation near the marina, as well as supermarkets (Konzum, Plodine, Getro), ambulance, bakeries, post office, bus station, pharmacy, souvenir shops, market, tourist agencies etc. The nearest general hospital is in Pula.
There are three international airports within 100 kilometres from Umag: Pula, Trieste and Ljubljana.
When approaching the marina, it is recommended to keep to a course of 60° and keep at least half a mile offshore to avoid possible hazards. Be very cautious of the dangerous Paklena Shoal, which is located half a mile on the NE side of the entrance to the harbour, and marked by a lighthouse. There is another rocky shoal patch just off the northern breakwater, which should be rounded from the south.
