View into the Blue: Free Diving Crash Course on Rab Island
May 6, 2018 – Ever wanted to try scuba diving, but don’t have the time for a full course? You’re in luck!
Any chance you’re currently island-hopping your way around the Adriatic? If so, make sure to hop to Rab island – there’s a cool event you might want to check out.
A project named View into the Blue (Pogled u plavo) has been introducing people to the thrill of scuba diving and exploring the Croatian waters for several years now. The City of Rab is joining this initiative yet again, inviting its citizens and guests to join them on the main square on May 8 and 9. The experienced instructors of the Nemo-Adria Rescue Team will lend a helping hand to all those who wish to try out this attractive activity in a controlled environment, providing them with diving gear and advice free of charge.
All visitors will have a chance to go on a trial dive on May 8 from 10:00 to 24:00 and May 9 from 10:00 to 18:00. The staff of the Nemo-Adria Rescue Team is composed of volunteering members of the Water Rescue Diving Unit, a special branch of the Office for Emergency Management of the City of Zagreb. Simply put, this means you don’t have to worry – you’re in safe hands.
View into the Blue was conceived to promote scuba diving, environment protection, and a positive approach to sports and physical activity. What’s not to like? The crew has recently presented the project in Sisak and Split, introducing hundreds of people to the basics of diving. In case you missed the two opportunities to participate, you know where to go – Rab awaits!
